Sir Richard Branson on the Most Useful Skills to Learn as an Entrepreneur

Sir Richard Branson was asked,

"What are the most useful skills I can learn as an entrepreneur?"

When such high-ticket individuals provide answers, I always pay close attention.

Faithful to Ray Dalio's "Believability Principle", Branson simply knows what he's talking about.

Well, enough of the preface, what did Sir Richard mean?

1. Listen deeply and always act with empathy.

2. Embrace optimism and say 'yes' as much as possible. This reminds me of his quote, "Screw it, let's do it!". The motto has never left my mind. It suits it.

3. Delegate and collaborate effectively. Young people should learn the skill of delegation early on. Branson even wrote his own guide on this.

4. Solve problems through creativity.

What I find remarkable is that Branson describes things as skills that many people don't even have on their "skill radar".

I would not think that "listening" is on the top of the list very often.

But, we are skill hackers!

So, of course, we have these skills in view.

Here is the listening skill.

Here is the optimism and quick decision-making.

You can find delegation here.

And creative problem-solving is located here.

Isn't that nice? Richard Branson gives us tips, and we have everything in hand to take them further on the road.

In this sense, happy skill hacking!
