One Dirty Little Trick You Should Be Aware of When Searching for an SEO Agency

I will make today's post very short.

It's late and time is fleeting.

Nevertheless, I want to share a critical little insight with you.

(Who said this couldn't be done with a few words...)

So, to stop putting more words in... here's the tip:

When you vet an SEO agency for your business, prepare to be presented with some urgent red flags!

Today, I had a consulting call with a business owner.

Currently, they are vetting SEO agencies.

The funny thing: EACH agency presented some BIG RED FLAG in their (free) initial report.

BUT... each agency's flag was a DIFFERENT ONE.

This doesn't surprise me.

It's an "old hat" strategy happening here.

From the agency's perspective, it looks about like this:

Step 1: Make a free report.

Step 2: Present some big, urgent red flag (or a few, to stir things up).

Step 3: Then present your agency as the white knight who can save the client from the red-flag misery.

Not too complicated, but quite effective.

So, what should you and I do when getting these red flag reports?

Step 1: Calm down; you know the strategy now.

Step 2: Narrow down if the red-flag item is success-critical anyway. - Because you can have as many red flag items as you want, as long as they are not success-critical. Following the old principle of prioritizing things, you and I can sleep like a baby even with these red flags, as long as they are not mission-critical for our SEO success.

HOW you narrow this down is a question of its own.

It depends on the nature of the red alert.

Get a second opinion by asking an alternative agency or consultant about a certain red flag item.

To make a short story even shorter: Now you know the tactic of presenting red flags to close a sale.

Don't freak out. Panic has never been a good advisor in buying decisions.
