My boys are big YouTube fans.
And while MrBeast is not right at the top of their list of favorites, he IS top of the list for many others.
He is one of the most well-known and successful YouTubers.
Here, I want to show you and me what we can learn from his success to be more successful ourselves.
The basic principle behind it is:
Continue!
What do I mean by that?
I have looked at the origins of MrBeast's remarkable career.
On YouTube, it's quite simple.
You just need to go into the video history of the channel and sort by time ascending.
Then, I see the first videos of MrBeast (I want to write Mr. Bean every time...)
AND... what's even more exciting...
I can trace his evolution.
What I saw was highly intriguing.
The biggest revelation upfront:
MrBeast's videos (and he himself as a presenter) were far from remarkable in the beginning.
At most average, I would say, if I'm not being too harsh on one of the biggest YouTubers.
BUT, MrBeast showed a characteristic that distinguished him from other YouTubers with average videos.
He kept going!
Like clockwork, he continued to publish.
In one video, he even refers to this.
He wonders if he will still be able to post daily in two years.
This is the one, crucial element of his success.
He simply kept going. For over 10 years.
What could we achieve if we kept at it every day for over 10 years?
Come what may?
No matter how bad our outcome is in the beginning?
The "Continue" characteristic is so important that it is its own success principle for me.
How does this help you and me?
In short, by continuing, we create the most important prerequisite for success.
It is not the only prerequisite.
We also need to observe, learn and adjust using a feedback loop.
But, continuing is a necessary condition for success.
With it, we simply leave our competitors behind, bit by bit.
Those who eventually give up and fall out of the race.
Jeff Bezos originally considered naming his company, not Amazon, but Relentless.
He believed so strongly in the principle of continuing relentlessly.
Same as MrBeast.
Do you start seeing a pattern?
How do we do it?
Of course, the important question remains, "Yes, HOW EXACTLY do I do that?"
How do I stick to it, no matter what?
Step 1: I realize that continuing is the real task.
Likewise, THIS should be my actual goal.
And with that, we're already at the next step.
Step 2: I make continuing my top goal.
This means, I turn away from superficial success measures.
The number of followers, number of video views, money earned...
If I orient myself by these measures, I encounter two problems:
Problem 1: I run the risk of quickly becoming demotivated if successes are slow to come.
Problem 2: My Expectations change. If I had a video with an enormous number of views once, I adjust my expectations. Suddenly, anything below that is a failure.
Even if it is MUCH more views than I ever had before.
If, however, my only expectation is to go to my YouTube quarry every day and chip new stones, and learn from it, I cannot be disappointed.
Every day is a success in itself.
Which directly brings me to the next step...
Step 3: I develop a love for the process.
Instead of focusing on subscribers or video views, I enjoy the process.
I see what I can learn and improve.
This is another shift in perspective, making every day a success.
With every new video, I can learn something.
Even if it's just how I should NOT do things.
What does this mean for our online marketing?
I hope you're not really asking this question.
But to clear up any ambiguities, I want to answer it just to be safe.
It brings us EVERYTHING!
Because the success principle that MrBeast applied is the SAME one that we can apply when attracting new customers to our website and turning them into customers.
We stick to it and continue like clockwork.
We do not focus on superficial successes and failures, but on continuing.
We keep this up for an indefinite period, learning from feedback and adjusting our approach accordingly.
Imagine you and me applying this principle to our content creation, PPC, conversion optimization, and link building.
What do you think will happen?
I'll tell you what I think:
We can't help but become incredibly successful!
First, because suddenly every day we continue, by our new definition, is alreday a success.
And second, because external success, traffic, leads, new customers, big money, will inevitably follow over time.
P.S. This is exactly how I do it, by the way. I go to my blog quarry every day and write a new post. And then I improve an existing post. ... And again tomorrow.
Why not come on and join in?
