The usual mode of building an audience goes about as follows.
Set up your Twitter (X), YouTube, Instagram, Podcast, and what not.
Start posting there constantly.
Start appearing in other Podcasts, and constantly roll the drum.
Now, we all only have 24 hours per day.
So if I do all this X, YouTube, Instagram, Podcasting, I cannot at the same time build deep-work solutions to help people.
Just by definition of the format, this content doesn't go so deep.
I plan to take a different route that looks as follows:
First, I will focus as much time as possible on creating the greatest deep-work help for you.
The formats will be online courses, books, and possibly blog-posts.
THEN I will rely on the natural tendency to share outstanding things with people you care for.
That's it.
Create GREAT help, and rely on word of mouth.
Now, there's one obvious obstacle that I built myself:
We all heavily tend to operate based on social-proof.
If we see someone on Twitter (x), YouTube, Instagram, every Podcast and so on, we believe in the value of his or her message.
On the other hand, if we don't see someone's face everywhere, we automatically doubt the message.
Because, if it was valuable, why don't I see that guy everywhere.
Well, in my case, it's that the guy has other priorities.
It's possible, even probable, that I give up a lot of reach by this.
But reach is not my primary goal.
Giving the most helpful stuff to the people that use it is my goal.
And appearing in more and more shows, to promote my stuff, doesn't serve that goal very well.
So I will try the other route.
Even if it costs me lots of reach.
